McLaughlin’s for Melanoma Cure

Our Team Fundraising Goal is $500.00! So far we have raised $250.00!

My name is Richie and I was diagnosed with a melanoma cancer on my back in 1994. The mole was excised and I did not think too much about melanoma, until in 1998, when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. It was a re-occurrence of the melanoma. It was a grade IV melanoma and I was given 3-9 months to live. I underwent surgery, then radiation. In January of 2012, I will celebrate my 14 year anniversary. I feel I am a miracle and want to celebrate life as:
Someone dies every hour from melanoma. Over the past 30 years the number of new cases of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, has more than doubled. Please help me fight melanoma today and support Melanoma Walk 2011. The event is hosted by the Skin Cancer Institute at the Arizona Cancer Center and proceeds from the 1.5 mile walk stay in Arizona and will support melanoma research, patient care, community outreach and education.
